General Club Info

All Club Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7:00pm at Orchard Hall in Elkins. Members are encouraged to attend. Officer Elections are held at the Christmas Party in December with officers taking their positions in March.

Monthly Club Trails Rides (during the warmer months) are open to members and their guests only. They are generously hosted by volunteers.  Give the ride host a call if you need info. about their trail or want to help with trail or meal prep. Hosts have a $100 stipend to be used for expenses and food, if desired.

Events open to the public are, of course, also open to club members but there may be a charge for these events for members as well as guests.

Who We Are...

Randolph County Regional Riding Club began in 2002 when a few friends got together to do some trail riding. It has since grown to over 80 members who love nothing more than to get together and ride the beautiful trails we have in our area. And do we have trails! Randolph County is located in north central West Virginia in the Allegheny Mts., home of the Monongahela National Forest - a vast area of protected woodland and meadows criss-crossed with great riding trails. And then there's the private lands we have access to...

What We Do...

Our calendar of events is loaded every year, especially during the riding season.

Each year, RCRRC has a benefit ride. Benefit rides are usually about 4 hours long on well marked and well-cleared trail appropriate for anyone who has some riding experience. They are always followed by a full meal. Other events open to the public include the Electronic Horse Race, an Equine Vaccine & Farrier Clinic, and an Endurance Ride (30 & 50 mile sanctioned by AERC & OAATS). Check the RBTR Endurance page for more info. concerning the endurance ride.

We also "sponsor" our local High Riders 4H Horse Club. Some of our members allow the kids without horses to "adopt" a horse for use in their 4H projects and shows.

Club members have lots of opportunities to expand their riding skills. During the riding season, we have monthly Club Trail Rides. All club members and their guests are invited to ride the trail the "host" trail boss chooses. These rides tend to be less formal and on rougher terrain than our Benefit Rides. We also have an 3-4 day overnight pack trip. This year, the pack trip will be in the Cranberry Backcountry. You must be a club member to attend the pack trip. More details will be available closer to the event which will be in either July or August.

We host some annual events including a couple of Fun Shows and the Christmas Party. In Febuary, we hold an Electronic Horse Race.
